Job Description

We are a well-established company in the transportation / logistics sector looking for a suitable candidate, to fill the position of Customs Broker.

Job functions:
  • Prepare and submit documents / Entry.
  • Determining tariff and duty payments.
  • Tracking shipments and using the tariff coding system to classify shipments.
  • Communicating with agents, customers and trucking companies.
  • Monitoring and obtaining relevant license, bonds and permit for importers.
  • Providing quotes to customers
  • Reporting
The Ideal Candidate must have: 
  • A valid Customs Broker License.
  • Five (5) years experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • The flexibility to work odd hours
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • An aptitude for learning and mastering systems applications.
  • A reliable motor Vehicle.

Job Purpose:
  • Under the general direction of the Programmes Director and within the limits of the policies and procedures of the National Youth Service the Programmes Manager will be responsible for:
  • Designing, implementing and evaluating programmes and projects and, where appropriate, developing partnerships with external researchers to undertake related youth development works.
  • Assisting with the organization, co-ordination, implementation and monitoring of the overall development of all National Youth Service programmes and emerging activities within the vision of the repositioned NYS.
Qualification & Experience: Education and Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/ Education a related Social Science Discipline Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in a supervisory/managerial position

Job Description

Factories Corporation of Jamaica Limited is inviting application from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Internal Auditor.

Summary
The Internal Auditor will provide support to department activities with special responsibility for ensuring that overall fiscal policies, procedures and/or regulations meet compliance requirements; developing and monitoring internal controls; conducting audits of internal funds and evaluating the degree of internal control exercised by each principal.
 
Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Post Graduate Degree in Finance or ACAA certified.
  • 3 - 4 years working experience in the Financial Accounting and Auditing Field Skills and
Key Competencies
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, practices and systems
  • Good evaluation and analytical skills
  • Excellent time managing skills
  • Knowledge of International Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • Computer application skills and Financial applications i.e Great Plains
  • Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide audit services daily and provides on a quarterly basis to ensure proper corporate governance.
  • Advise Audit Committee on the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting system and internal control structure.
  • Advise on whether or not the objectives of the Corporation are being achieved.
  • Advise on the adherence of policies and procedures.
  • Examination and presentation of the management accounts which are being presented to the Board of Directors
  • Attend meetings of Audit Committee concerning matters on which the Auditor has made a report.
  • Arrange audit review; discuss resulting observations with the Managing Director.
  • Provide draft reports to the Managing Director to facilitate inclusion of managements’ response in the finish report to the Audit Committee.
  • Perform such other reasonable function as may be assigned by the Audit Committee and/or Managing Director.
  • The Auditor will governed primarily by the Public Bodies’ Management and Accountability Act, the Financial Administration and Audit Act, the Public Sector Procurement guidelines, Institute of Internal Auditors and any other enactments or guidelines in force from time to time.
