HAMILTON KNIGHT ASSOCIATES LTD EXECUTIVE SEARCH & SELECTION SERVICES seeks to invite applications for the post of: General Manager
To manage, promote and co-ordinate the operations of the Company in such a manner as to provide the main outlet for the agricultural produce (particularly Irish potatoes) of registered farmers, optimise its share of the local agricultural produce market, build sustainable partnerships with local state and other agencies, leverage and build relationships with funding agencies to develop markets, products and services and minimise wastage of direct products and bi-products of its operations, to ensure the highest returns to its shareholders and provide the most efficient and outstanding customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Board of Directors ( the Board), the General Manager (GM) is responsible for coordinating and participating in the formulation of the organisation's philosophy, mission, strategy, goals and objectives and providing
- The GM's responsibilities involve supervision, public relations, marketing, profitability and sales, service, reporting, capital requirements, and other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.
- He is also responsible for ensuring that the organisation is compliant with laws and regulations that are relevant to its operations, and with operation standards and modes established by the Board.
- The GM will maintain a positive attitude and provide leadership that promotes team work within the Company and a favourable image of the Company to its shareholders, partners and customers
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration or a related discipline OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Marketing with relevant postgraduate certification
- Ten (10) years related experience at the managerial level, including experience in financial management or general supervisory management and administration, of which at least five (5) should be in a senior management or marketing position, in a large organization
Special Conditions Associated with the Job
- Not the normal office environment
- Required to travel on regular basis to meet with local farmers, producers and purchasers.
