supermarket is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill
the following position for its branch in Kingston: Senior Accountant
Qualification and
Experience
·
ACCA Level II, BSc Degree in Accounting or
Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary
institution.
·
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a
retail industry.
·
Proficiency in the use of personal computers and
relevant software applications including accounting packages.
·
Excellent analytical, problem solving and
decision-making skills.
·
Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
·
The ability to communicate effectively at all
levels.
·
The ability to meet deadline, work on own
initiative and under pressure.
·
The ability to supervise a team of workers in
achieving the objective of the company.
·
Meticulous and proficient with numbers.
·
Confidential, honest, organized and accurate.
Main Areas of
Responsibility
·
To ensure that the company’s financial
information as reported is complete, accurate, timely, reliable and in keeping
with International Accounting Standards (IAS).
·
To file corporation tax, GCT and other statutory
monthly/yearly returns.
·
Sound knowledge of accounting practices and
principles.
·
Good knowledge of computer spreadsheet
applications and familiarity with network based accounting software.
·
To prepare bank reconciliations.
·
Ensure control systems are effective to
safeguard company’s assets.
