Job Summary

The selected candidate will help to meet sales and revenue targets for our portfolio of brands by implementing information management activities on time and within budget. S/He will be required to maximize returns on investment from the annual information systems plan under the guidance of the Executive Management Team and the Director of Development. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall direction and management of the Information Systems Department and to develop the strategic plans, policies and programs for the processing of data, computer services, network communications and management information services to ensure that the department provides the level of service which fulfills the mandate as set by the company’s management.

Main Duties include: 

• Direct and manage the day to day operations of the IT Department 
• Develop and implement the necessary strategies, policies and objectives to ensure that the computing capabilities of the IT Department are responsive to the current needs and future growth of the Company. 
• Interact with the senior management team on all operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information 
• Maintain and protect the information and data integrity of the company and business units
• Oversee and manage the design, development and implementation of any new applications, software packages and computer systems as well and any changes to same 
• Review, develop and implement the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans 
• Oversee the administration of the AS400 mainframe system and PC and SharePoint
• based applications and databases

Qualifications and experience: 

• First degree in Computer Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
• Specialised training in AS400 from vendor 
• Experience with ERP software 
• Training in network design and administration 
• At least 5 years experience in a similar position 
• Previous experience managing IT Departments for companies in Manufacturing and Distribution Sector 
• Previous experience in project implementation and management such as system upgrades
• Experience in trouble shooting and problem analysis 
• Experience in developing/ documenting Policies and 
• Procedures for the IT function
