KINGSTON BOOKSHOP LIMITED is seeking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT with the skills and attributes required to successfully support their Human Resource Team.
The Human Resource Assistant is also responsible for providing general administrative support to the Human Resource Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance of administrative duties for the Human Resource Department.
- Monitoring and maintenance of personnel records including the Human Resource
- Management Information System (HRMIS).
- Assisting with staff training activities (including branch networks).
- Liaising with the organisational staff on human resource matters.
- Provision of customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with the planning and co-ordination of staff welfare programmes and activities.
- Performance of other duties, responsibilities and general activities as assigned and deemed necessary for the efficient operations and delivery of the HR functions.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Secondary education with passes in at least five CXC subjects including, English
- Language and Mathematics
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent relevant training from a recognised institution.
- Two (2) years' experience in a similar position within a human resources department.
Minimum Required Competencies:
- Knowledge of the principles and application of Jamaican Labour Laws
- Proficiency in the use of computer software applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of HRMIS
- Ability to plan and coordinate activities
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle company matters in a professional and confidential manner.
