Construction Manager

A subsidiary of an international company contracted to work with the National Water Commission on the Kingston & St. Andrew Non-Revenue Water Reduction Project seeks  a Construction manager

The RIGHT candidate must be able to:     

·         Manage the repair of broken mains, the replacement of leaking service lines and the construction PRV chambers.      
·         Manage the installation of meters, valves, PRVs, pressure tapping points and telemetry bollards.       Ensure that jobs are planned and undertaken in accordance with standard operating procedures and proper construction techniques.      
·         Monitor jobs ensuring compliance with the National Works Agency requirements for working on the highway.      
·         Ensure that underground utilities are correctly marked prior to excavation      
·         Facilitate the adherence of all work undertaken to relevant specifications.      
·         Assess and ensure that asphalt reinstatement of completed trenches is accomplished.      
·         Coordinate and direct the work of site supervisors, the traffic manager and the utility co-coordinator.

Qualification and Experience:      
·         Bsc. in Civil Engineering with necessary registration      
·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pipeline construction and working on the highway.

Other Requirements:      
·         Proven experience in and advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods.      
·         Excellent knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.      
·         Leadership and human resource management skills      
·         Excellent time management skills.       
·         Ability to work beyond usual working hours in an effort to meet deadline.

Field Supervisor/ Site Inspector required

The RIGHT candidate must be able to:       
·         Examine job progress to verify compliance with specifications, codes and regulations.      
·         Monitor the progress of repairs and installations.      
·         Ensure safety systems are in place.      
·         Ensure that jobs are planned and undertaken in accordance with standard operating procedures and proper construction techniques.      
·         Carry out required duties as directed by Construction Manager.      
·         Facilitate the adherence of all work undertaken to relevant specifications.      
·         Review work progress on a daily basis.

Other Requirements:      
·         Proven experience in and advanced knowledge of the construction of water pipelines      
·         Excellent knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.      
·         Excellent time and quality management skills.      
·         Ability to work nights and weekends as required.

Qualification and Experience:      
·         Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline      
·         Minimum of 3-5 years of experience

Applications invited for the post of Security Manager


The Security Manager oversees all security operations for the hotel and develop and enforce security policies to ensure a safe environment for employees and guests as well as physical assets.

The Security Manager would be well-acquainted with modern methods and have a working familiarity about electronic surveillance measures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:      
·         Conduct site reviews, reporting on findings and making recommendations for improvement;       Constantly evaluate the activities of the hotel, staff and guests to implement corrective actions where necessary;     
·         Plan, develop and implement security plans and programs for physical security, information protection, incident management/investigation, emergency response and crisis management;      
·         Oversee daily security functions and activities and ensure work is uninterrupted and carried out in a safe manner;      
·         Maintain knowledge of national security issues and industry trends and update management on risks and threats that could impact the hotel;      
·         Provide leadership and guidance to line management on security policy and practices and identify exposures and oversee corrective action;      
·         Perform incident analysis and investigation and liaising with the security forces accordingly.      
·         Maintain close contact with external security personnel and authorities;      
·         Work alongside staff to conduct patrol and surveillance;      
·         Conduct regular departmental meetings and shift briefings;      
·         Ensure all requisite licences are in place and security personnel undergoes regular training;      
·         Supervise staff on a daily basis, prepare shift schedule and conduct performance reviews;      
·         Ensure all equipment is secured and proper logs are maintained for handing over accordingly.

Minimum qualifications      
·         At least five (5) years in a security management position with a reputable security firm or armed forces at least two (2) of these should be with electronic surveillance;      
·         Professional qualifications and certification in the discipline;      
·         Knowledgeable about industry trends and methods to curtail illegal activity;      
·         Willing to undergo criminal background checks and periodic tests;      
·         Articulate with excellent communication and customer service skills;      
·         Demonstrated professionalism;      
·         Team-leader;      
·         Excellent time-management and organisation capabilities;      
·         Crowd management and evacuation expertise or training.

Assist with administrative, accounting and other operational duties of the Guest Services, Sales & Events and Accounting departments. Provide nightly concierge service to in-house guests between 11:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. The incumbent should supervise nightly operation of property; greet, register and assign rooms to guests and issue room keys, provide telephone coverage, complete reconciliation reports and accounts receivables reports. Additionally, the Night Auditor will prepare invoices and work schedules for the Ancillary Team and ensure that guest billing information is prepared.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE       
·         Associate Degree in Accounting or other related field of study      
·         Minimum 3 years experience in the hospitality industry      
·         Experience with night audit methodologies and procedures
