A small but rapidly growing distribution company operating in Jamaica for both international and local suppliers is seeking to fill vacancies for the position of ACCOUNTANT
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily monitoring of the collections from customers.
- Timely preparation and disbursement of customer statements and key reconciliations and reports. Posting of collections to the accounts receivable sub-ledger and general ledger on a daily basis. Perform other accounting duties as required.
- Prepare and update costing for new and current products
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- BSc Accounting, Level 1 ACCA or Associate Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting.
- Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- Flexible with work hours, able to work under pressure and meet pressing deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with accounting package such as Peachtree and Quickbooks would be an asset.
