HOTEL ACCOUNTANT - Kingston.

The ideal candidate will play a key role within the accounting function and will be responsible for preparing the monthly financials and assisting with the review of the hotel's financial performance. Additionally, the ideal candidate is expected to provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial information and provide forecasting, budgeting and operational support.
The successful candidate will be required to:         
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.         
  • Maintenance of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers and General Ledger functions. Review of accounting procedures and internal controls on a routine basis, with appropriate recommendations.         
  • Prepare audit schedules on a monthly basis and ensure year end audits are completed within the stipulated deadlines.         
  • Effectively prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly reports on a timely basis         
  • Effectively manage the cash flows of the company.         
  • Have a working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
Qualifications and Experience        
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or ACCA Level 2.         
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar capacity         
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Reconciliation and General Ledger Accounting for Financial Reporting.         
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.         
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.        
  • Be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.         
  • Be self-motivated and deadline-oriented, with a positive attitude         
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks
