International in the Caribbean, with hotels in Mexico, Brazil, Dominican
Republic, Cuba and now Jamaica invites applications from qualified candidates
to fill the following position within our Logistics Department: Logistic
Manager
CORE DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Identify the forwarders and entities involve in
the import process of good into the country.
•
Revise and update service contract or agreements
with forwarders and customs broker in which the business terms and process fees
are related and signed for a time frame agreed, looking always the more
competitive cost to allow the company to safe funds.
•
Control and supervise all purchase order issue
by the purchasing department, knowing the real time when are going to be
delivered at the forwarder in each area or zone the company has warehouse or
ship entities.
•
Control and supervise the application of
licenses and permits for the import of merchandise, being informed of all
changes occurred in the country as, incentives or changes on the tax
regulations and procedures.
•
Always look after best prices for importation
using cost comparison, against volume, transit time, and effective handling of
good of each forwarder in contact with.
•
Decide the best way to move merchandise having
in consideration the urgency, the item’s nature and cost.
•
Supervise the good presentation of the import
document to custom (ex: invoices, permits, forwarder invoice, CARICOM, and
always match the purchase order value with the supplier invoice, check
currency, date, and items related.
•
Revise meticulously the entry present by the
broker to custom, always to ensure the company interest and funds are use
fairly in accordance with law.
•
Supervise the cheque request to the financial
department for this process to be done in a shorter period of time, ensuring
the fastest payment in customs house to finally receive the shipment on
property.
•
Control the shipment arrival and also plan the
best entrance schedule on property having in mind the operational space on the
warehouse, or delivery area as the necessity of the merchandise.
•
Organize the frame time the container it’s going
to stay in the port since its arrival in Jamaica, at the hotel property and its
return to the port, always counting on free days granted by the various
shipping companies, looking towards to avoid penalties as: storage, demurrage,
chassis rental, etc.
The incumbent must
be able to:
•
work under pressure and should also be flexible.
•
speak Spanish fluently.
