GK FOODS, a Division of GraceKennedy Limited, is seeking to recruit a results oriented and highly motivated individual to fill the position of IT Security Officer for its Business Systems Unit.
Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, the individual will be responsible for directing the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems, business operations and facility defenses against IT security breaches and vulnerability issues. Work together with IT Officers from GKMS and FGB to ensure that GraceKennedy’s IT security posture is acceptable.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Special Requirements and Key Competences
- B.Sc. degree in Computer Science
- Vendor Certification in CISSP, CCSA, MCP+1, MCSE
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in the IT industry
- Proven experience in planning, organizing, and developing IT security and facility security system technologies.
- Experience in planning and executing security policies and standards development.
- Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including information security, building security, and defense solutions.
- Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
- Principal Responsibilities
- Ensures all assigned responsibilities and objectives are achieved on a timely basis and in compliance with and the company’s policies, practices and procedures
- Operates in an objective and transparent manner and sets high work standards.
- Timely execution of initiatives to achieve expected results as is indicated within the job description, and within the performance appraisal
- Execution of special projects
- Interaction with customers, clients, vendors, and staff
- Participate as a member of the IS management team in governance processes of the organization’s IT security strategies.
- Lead strategic security planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing defense initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future security technologies. Develop security strategies
- Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, audits, and enhancements.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices Act as advocate and primary liaison for the company’s security vision via regular written and in-person communications with the company’s executives, department heads, and end users.
- Work closely with rest of IS department on corporate technology development to fully secure information, computer, network, and processing systems.
- Collaborate with CIO and human resources to establish and maintain a system for ensuring that security and privacy policies are met.
- Creatively and independently provide resolution to security problems in a cost-effective manner. Assess and communicate any and all security risks associated with any and all purchases or practices performed by the company.
