BAKERY TECHNOLOGIST


The ideal candidate should possess: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Bakery Science or Certification in BakingTechnology 
  • A minimum of three years e experience in quality control or food production
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Broad knowledge of Food Science/Food Chemistry and knowledge of ingredient functionality/interactions including assessing and problem-solving product/process interactions 
  • Knowledge of product and packaging properties, labelling regulations and understanding of GMP, HACCP & Shelf Life & Modes of Spoilage 
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop or improve existing formulations to improve product quality and to ensure that products are produced safely and in compliance with food industry standards and legislation. 
  • Be able to analyze raw material and production process samples to evaluate quality. 
  • Be able to participate in the development of product specifications. 
  • Be able to execute and oversee mixing of dough operation. 
  • Possess the ability to accurately scale and batch ingredients.
The successful candidate will be required to work on weekends and on shifts.
