GLENGOFFE HIGH SCHOOL The Board of Management of Glengoffe High School invites applicants for the post of PRINCIPAL
Duties commence on or before September 1, 2016.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will be required to:
- Provide effective management and leadership to the school within the framework of the strategic focus of the Ministry of Education and Board of Management.
- Foster and maintain a school environment centered on discipline, academic, social growth and development of students and in keeping with the Ministry of Education's mantra that 'every child can learn and must learn"
- Motivate teachers and support staff to maximize their contribution to the school community.
- Foster and maintain a strong relationship with allied institutions, internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate a vision of improving and sustaining the school to excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Trained teacher with a Bachelor Degree in an education trained discipline (from a recognized university) and taught in the Secondary school.
- Master Degree in Educational Management and Leadership, Management Studies or Human
- Resource Management.
- National Council Education Leadership (NCEL) Effective Principal Training.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Through knowledge Of Ministry of Education Rules and Regulations.
- Working knowledge of Ministry of Finance Regulations as it pertains to the Management of Public
- Educational Institutions, knowledge of FAA Act, Government Procedures, Policies and
- Procurement Guidelines and Financial Management Skills.
- Working knowledge of the Jamaica Labour Laws and Industrial Relation Practices.
- Strong Leadership and Management aptitude.
- Proven ability to Curriculum Development.
- Professional who keeps abreast of pedagogical and technological trends.
- Skills in strategic planning, policy formulation, project implementation
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time-management and organizational leadership skills
