Job Summary

The Technical Services Officer is responsible for leading a project management team in directing multiple projects geared at assisting client organizations to achieve certification to ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP and GFSI standards.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and training in developing quality and food safety systems policies and procedures to client organizations
• Conduct gap audits, opinion audits, and pre-certification audits against international standards 
• Develop project management plans towards achieving certification 
• Providing training in food safety and quality management 
• Facilitate the development of risk management plans 
• Manage internal project management systems to ensure effective service delivery to clients 
• Collect, compile and analyze statistical quality data to identify areas for improvement in the clients’ quality system 
• Oversee and direct project officers involved in the project implementation 
• Establish, develop and maintain excellent business relationships with existing and potential clients

Qualifications and Experience 

• A Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Engineering Sciences or related degree 
• A Masters’ degree would be an asset 
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity 
• Possess a Lead Auditor certificate in ISO 9001 or ISO 22000 
• Expert knowledge in international quality and food safety standards 
• Experience in delivering training courses and conducting quality and food safety audits
