Technologists And A Manager Required

A newly established Jamaican company with factory operations in rural Jamaica invites applications from qualified persons to fill the positions of Process and Extraction Technologists and Process and Extraction Manager.

The successful Technologists will be responsible for operating machinery to prepare plant materials and extract and refine intermediates and products. The successful Manager who must possess at least a BSc in Chemistry or related fields will have overall responsibility for process operations and must have a strong appreciation of what it means to produce high quality products in a certified environment.

TECHNOLOGISTS MAIN DUTIES

• Operate high-tech equipment to produce intermediates of requisite standards and quantities.
• Do minor maintenance and adjustments to equipment
• Perform timely, scheduled and accurate documentation of daily logs
• Ensure that machinery and immediate surroundings are free from extraneous materials
• Prepare, standardize and adjust reagents if required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION and SKILLS

• CAPE Chemistry
• Diploma or Certificate in Chemical Technology
• Ability to work alone

EXPERIENCE

• One to two year(s) as a Chemical Technician/Technologist or Laboratory Analyst

MANAGER MAIN DUTIES

Supervise all activities and aspects of factory management including but not limited to:

• Preparing Budgets and reports
• Ensuring timely achievement of targets within budget – quality and quantity
• Ensuring adherence to all rules legislations and standards
• Continuous improvement of operations

EDUCATION and SKILLS

• BSc in Chemistry, Natural Products, Biochemistry
• BSc or Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Technology
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite
• Results and people oriented,

EXPERIENCE

• Two to five years in similar or related fields in a manufacturing setting
• NOTE- Jobs may require working beyond normal hours
• Residence in, or willingness to relocate to Clarendon/Manchester/St. Elizabeth is a requirement
• Knowledge of micro-propagation of plants would be an asset for the Manager
